Mark Bullock

Eb Bass

Instrument: Besson Sovereign E Flat Bass

Position: E Flat Bass

Previous Bands: Mount Charles Youth Band 2000-2008

Profile:
Mark started playing for Mount Charles Youth Band in 2000.  His first instrument was the cornet which he played for about two years, until the band was short of Euphoniums when he agreed to move.

After that, the band grew short of Basses.  Mark was, at first, reluctant to move but eventually did and says he doesn't regret his decision one bit!

In 2007, Mark was approached by a former Mount Charles player, who unfortunately is also his cousin Emma, to play for Bugle.  After weeks of asking, Mark joined before the Area Contest and, unfortunately for everyone else, he is still there!

As well as playing for the Mount Charles Youth and Bugle Bands, Mark also plays E Flat Bass for the Brass Worx brass ensemble: www.brassworx.co.uk

Memorable banding moment:
Playing a solo at the National Youth Championships of Great Britain.
Performing in the Royal Albert Hall.

Why Mark likes playing in Bugle Silver Band:
Mark says:
"Basically, the drink.  Everybody loves a good drink, and no one better than the players of Bugle Band.  No, I'm only joking - I don't drink at all!
Bugle Band is a laugh and I really enjoy trumping it out at the back...Wait, that didn't sound right!"
