Instrument:
Besson Sovereign Euphonium
Position:
Second Euphonium and
Contest Secretary
Profile:
Ann started playing at the age of 45, after being involved with brass
bands with her two children. Her son, Iain now composes and arranges
music and also conducts a band, while her daughter Susan plays the Tenor
Horn.
She played with Newquay Band for about 18 months and then joined
Bugle. Ann
was Secretary of St Austell Band for 7
½ years, before becoming Contest Secretary at Bugle.
Memorable
banding moment:
Getting a pencil stuck in her bell end!
While doing marching practice, the band started playing "Army Of The
Nile", while Ann played "Black Dyke"!
Why
she likes playing in Bugle Silver Band:
Ann
says:
"I enjoy working as part of a team, especially in the run up to a
contest. I have made many friends and I enjoy the social life that
goes with it.
Bugle is a very friendly,
laid-back band."
