Profile:
Gavin began playing at the age of seven while at Biscovey Junior
School, under the guidance of the late Alan Slaughter. He joined
Bugle shortly after, and in 1998 left to join the Mount Charles Youth
Band.
He has played at the Royal Albert Hall three times, and won the
Championship Section at the area contest in 2005. While with the
Mount Charles Youth Band, they won the South West Brass Band Association
contest 11 times and were crowned National Youth Champions of Great
Britain 3 times in 4 years!
Gavin's
proudest moment came when he was awarded the Best Horn in Section A at the
British Open Youth Championships, where the band also won their class.
Gavin
currently plays Percussion for Bugle, although he has been known to sneak
into the Bass or Horn sections when no one is looking!!
Memorable
banding moment:
Getting
to a concert and finding he had no mouthpiece!
Performance with Mount Charles Youth Band at the National Youth
Championships Of Great Britain 2006, which he describes as
"faultless".

he likes playing in Bugle Silver Band:

"I
like the laid back and fun atmosphere, and I'm surrounded by
friends. I really feel the band is going somewhere - I'm not sure
where, but somewhere!"
