Profile:
Rachael started playing percussion at the age of 12, when she joined the Mount Charles Youth Band.  Unfortunately, when she reached the grand old age of 20, she was no longer able to compete and play with a youth band, and so had to leave.

Rachael has been playing with Bugle Silver Band since February 2007.

She also plays percussion in the Brass Worx brass ensemble: www.brassworx.co.uk

Memorable banding moment:
Playing "Fanfare For The Common Man" in the Royal Albert Hall to open the Music For Youth Festival - "I love to hate that piece!"
Being awarded the "Best Percussion Section" prize and winning at the British Open Youth Championships in 2006.

Why she likes playing in Bugle Silver Band:
Rachael says:
"I really enjoy being part of a great team of people.  We always have a brilliant time when we travel away for contests...and they all know how to have a good drink!!"
