Adam Scott

3rd Man

Instrument: Yamaha Maestro B Flat Cornet

Position: 3rd man

Previous Bands: Mount Charles Youth Band; Cornwall Youth Brass Band

Profile:
Adam first started playing the cornet at the age of 10 and his first experience of playing in public was at a talent competition held at his junior school, in which he gained first prize.

Shortly afterwards, he joined the back row cornets in Mount Charles Youth Band and after numerous concerts and competitions including Manchester, Birmingham, Pontins and the Albert Hall, he has now progressed to the position of Solo Cornet.

A few years later, Adam joined Bugle Silver Band and last year Cornwall Youth Brass Band.  He enjoys their residential courses and the concerts afterwards.

He also plays Assistant Principal Cornet for the Brass Worx brass ensemble: www.brassworx.co.uk

Adam's hope for the future is to play again at the Albert Hall and to play with Bugle in the Championship Section.

Memorable banding moment:
Adam's most embarrassing moment was when he started playing the Waltonian at the beginning of a concert when everyone else was playing the Fox Fanfare, and what made it worse was the fact that it was recorded!

Why he likes playing in Bugle Silver Band:
Adam says:
"Apart from the fact I enjoy the playing aspect, I also enjoy the social side, especially dressing up in a tutu and leopard print underwear!
